The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Department of Textile Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits, 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester.
The Department trains its students according to the needs of the textile industry while equipping them with advanced professional and engineering information which enable them access information and research easily. Students improve by analysis and synthesis and by self-renewing humanity and responsibility. Our gradutes are General Textile Engineers who can work at national and international companies.
The language of instruction is Turkish, yet students become familiar with the textile terminology in English as well.
Textile Engineers work as administrators in textile companies at the levels which include trading of raw textile materials that are to be developed as final products. The factories our graduates can be employed in process synthetic and chemical fiber and manifacture yarn and also include the process of spinning, weaving preparation and weaving operations, paint finishing (finishing) and our gradutes can manage every aspect of this process. Moreover, textile engineers can work in various state institutions and at universities, they can become representatives of machinery and technology and can as well manage their own businesses.
Our students are educated in General Textile Engineering for a broad-based career that requires the essential engineering information. They are qualified to work as Textile Engineers at home and abroad. The main goal of the training program is to preprare students for the future for the optimization and management of raw materials, semi finished and fully finished materials and in rendering materials, machinery, methods and personnel relationships. Students of the Department of Textile Engineering can have Double Major and Minor in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (English), Business (English), Business Administration (Turkish) and Fashion and Textile Design. Students are also able to switch between sections in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (English) and the Fashion and Textile Design.
The Department laboratories are in co-operation with the Technopark of the University. The training programs designed for our students include 'Site Application', starting at the 5th semester of the prorgram and is held one day a week as real-time practice in the industry.
